Golfing centenarian, Christine King, celebrates 100th birthday at Moor Park Golf Club

Christine King, who turned 100-years-old on Wednesday, November 20, celebrated the special day with her son and daughter at Moor Park Golf Club. The grandmother of five and great grandmother of seven has been a member of the club for 78 years and marked the occasion by having lunch with her children, Christopher and Penelope. Mrs King said: “I had lunch with my son and daughter and I had a big family party. Ive had lots of parties and I dont seem to have stopped. “Im very lucky because, at the moment, I am very well.” Mrs King has been a member of the club since she was 22-years-old and she used to enjoy playing golf and tennis. She was a member of the Womens Voluntary Service (WVS) during the war when she lived in Northwood with her husband, Leslie, who passed away in the 70s.
